Windmill Palm Trees
The Windmill Palm is a very cold hardy palm that can tolerate cold down to 5-10F.
This slow growing palm is good for landscapes in USDA zones 7b-11. Brunswick County, NC is USDA zone 8a.
The windmill trunk is slender and does not require a lot of space so you may plant multiple windmills of different heights in a group in the same area or bed.
The fronds grow from the top only.
Once a frond is cut off it will expose the trunk which is covered with a loose mat of coarse gray or brown fiber.
